As of 29 November 2013, deposits in cooperative savings and credit unions are covered by the Bank Guarantee Fund.

In the event of the fulfilment of the guarantee condition (defined as the suspension of a credit union’s operations, appointing a receiver – provided one had not been appointed earlier – and filing a bankruptcy petition with respect to the credit union), the Bank Guarantee Fund will reimburse guaranteed funds up to the amount stipulated in legislation.
