On 27 January 2014, "The Banker" magazine, which is part of the Financial Times Ltd. group, published an article authored by Jerzy Pruski, Chair of the Executive Council and President of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) on the subject of the growing role of deposit guarantee institutions worldwide.
The article identifies a need for formal inclusion of deposit guarantee institutions in the financial safety net architecture and indicates the desirability of expanding the powers of these institutions to include mechanisms of bank resolution.
