On 21-23 March 2016, the Bank Guarantee Fund (BFG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) co-organized a workshop on resolution of credit institutions (i.e. banks and credit unions) that are subject to statutory supervision by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority and are covered by deposit guarantees of the Bank Guarantee Fund.
Workshop participants were exposed to an abundance of expert knowledge and numerous practical experiences from the conduct of resolution processes in other jurisdictions, with the aim of building staff capacity and enhancing technical operational facility within the Bank Guarantee Fund, which is the designated national resolution authority in Poland.
The workshop was attended by delegates from the Bank Guarantee Fund as well as from other member institutions of the financial safety net in Poland, i.e. the National Bank of Poland, the Ministry of Finance and the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
