On 7-9 March 2016, the 47th Executive Council (EXCO) Meeting of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) was held at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, accompanied by a series of meetings of Standing Committees and Sub-committees of IADI.
President of the Management Board of the Bank Guarantee Fund Mr. Jerzy Pruski, who serves on the IADI EXCO as a Councilmember, took part in the EXCO’s deliberations, which pertained primarily to issues regarding implementation of a number of initiatives pursuant to a recently completed strategic and structural review of IADI. Discussion topics included expanding the research capacity of the IADI Secretariat; plans to provide technical assistance to members of the Association, especially in light of current macroeconomic and financial stability related challenges (particularly in emerging markets); and a draft methodology for a differential membership fee system.
Deputy President of the Management Board of the Bank Guarantee Fund Mr. Krzysztof Broda, in his role as Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Bail-in, presided over discussions on a culminating report on a research project tackling the implications of bail-in for deposit insurance and funding.
