On 15 June 2011 the Bank Guarantee Fund signed an agreement with three commercial banks: Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A., Bank Pekao S.A. and Bank PKO Bank Polski S.A. on readiness to make payouts of guaranteed funds.
The agreement will allow the BFG to select banks that according to the art. 26j of the Act on the Bank Guarantee Fund shall disburse guaranteed funds on behalf and on account of the Fund in case of a declaration of a bank’s insolvency.
