On 21-25 October 2013, the Bank Guarantee Fund hosted an International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) Steering Committee for Revising the Core Principles for Effective Deposit Insurance Systems and an IADI Core Principles Workshop.
The Steering Committee was appointed by the IADI Executive Council in February 2013 with the mandate of carrying out an assessment and revision of the Core Principles for Effective Deposit Insurance Systems. The Core Principles have been incorporated by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) into a set of 12 key standards for sound financial systems.
The IADI Core Principles Workshop aimed to prepare experts from the Association to take part in missions led by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) which evaluate deposit guarantee systems against the Core Principles in context of the Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) reviews.
Over 30 experts from deposit guarantee institutions from across the world took part in the IADI Core Principles Workshop and Steering Committee meetings.
