On June 11, 2013, a debate took place on the topic of public financial institutions operating on the European market, held at the head office of the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego in Warsaw, during the General Assembly of the Members of the European Association of Public Banks (EAPB). Mr. Jerzy Pruski, President of the Bank Guarantee Fund, delivered a speech at the Assembly on the topic of the Polish banking sector and selected European regulatory reforms.
The EAPB works towards ensuring the existence of a European legislative framework that enables its members to implement their public missions effectively. EAPB member institutions provide financing for undertakings that contribute to socio-economic development at a national, regional and local level, in such sectors as infrastructure, social housing, health care and education.
